Community Life
Community lies at the heart of the Iona School. Our community consists of parents, carers, pupils, teachers, former families and friends. We love to celebrate our community through our fundraising events where we fling open the doors and invite new friends and visitors in to enjoy our wonderful school.
Our two main annual events are The Summer Fayre in June/July and The Advent Fayre in November/December. Peppered through the year are other smaller fundraisers including the fabulous Café area, cake sales, musical concerts and recitals. Most of these events are for families to enjoy and we encourage our families to bring along grandparents, siblings and friends to them.
Parents also get involved in a variety of support groups such as:
- Managing the Land
- The Allotment Group
- The Maintenance Group
- The Fundraising Team
“As a parent who helps out with painting and decorating in the school – I would like to add that these ‘work days’ are an incredibly rewarding way of being able to give back a little to the school. It is also great to be part of a team helping to lift the aesthetics around the school and in the classrooms. The new double-glazed windows make such a difference – even the children have noticed them!”
